Hold Your Loved Ones Close!!!

Today our nation woke up with heavy, mourning hearts for all the young lives that were lost yesterday in ConnecticutDecember 14, 2012 catastrophe has impacted many peoples lives. Some of us are not be related to any of these families, and some of us are; but a good majority of us have children, nieces, nephews, or God children. To think that this could happen anyone any where, makes everyone worried and holding their child(ren) tighter. I usually make my kids go to bed at 8 p.m. but yesterday, they stayed up an extra two hours.I cannot even imagine what these families and friends are going through. The thought of losing my children breaks my heart, and makes me sick to my stomach; but to actually lose them, words don't come to mind.

This senseless act of this guy has torn many hearts just before the holiday. There will be many unopened presents under the tree, and many birthdays not celebrated. But we have to look at the teachers and staff at the school who lost their lives with these precious children. They did there best to protect those children. Some teachers made it out, while some unfortunately lost theirs protecting these little ones. Our hearts go out to those teachers and the principal. Also to the janitor who ran down the hallways, screaming at the top of his lungs that there was a shooter in the school. It is unknown if this individual made it out alive, but we can thank this person for doing what he did. To the person in the office who turned on the p.a. to alert everyone, we thank you. What these two individuals did, saved many children's and teachers lives.

Yesterday's catastrophe could have been a lot worst than it was, but there were so many individuals who helped save so many lives. The mourning will continue for days, weeks, and even months; we have to come together as a nation and pray for these families and friends. We need to lend our support and prayers, and any way we can help them out we need to help them out. These families were not expecting to have to bury their babies days before Christmas. So please, if anything is set up for these families please help out.

Hold your loved ones close and give them lots of kisses, you never know when they will leave us! ~Dana Lockett
